February is National Heart Healthy Month

Posted by GO Medical on

According to the World Health Organization, over 17 million people are killed by cardiovascular disease each year! Our heart is a vital organ that beats around 100,000 time per day and needs to be cared for. Reducing stress, exercising and eating a "lean and green" low sodium diet will benefit the heart. Smoking and overeating ultimately harm the heart.

Cardiovascular disease frequently does not have clear symptoms and can go unnoticed for months. Therefore, it is important to have regular check ups including lab work and blood pressure monitoring to identify heart conditions. It is also important to encourage others we know to develop heart healthy habits.

Below is a printable blood pressure log to assist those that monitor their blood pressure. Simply click on the link and print.
